Community-Based Observations of Southeast Alaska Waters 

Initiated in 2022, this community-led observation program carries out regular environmental measurements of Southeast Alaskan waters. With these observations we will be able to assess the seasonal and interannual variability of temperature and salinity across Southeast Alaskan waterways. This will give us clues to how local waters circulate, and help provide important environmental context to issues pertaining to fisheries and the health of marine ecosystems.
